So I decided to take a trip down memory lane today and visited some of my friend's pages on Myspace. It was a fun "frozen in time" look at how we lived our lives in 2007, then I noticed a link for the new Myspace.

Yep, you read that right. Maybe I was premature in calling it curtains for Myspace, but a new and improved Myspace is on the way. I have to admit it looks pretty bad ass. Apparently Justin Timberlake has purchased a controlling interest in the fledgling social networking site and is preparing to re-launch the website.

If you go to new.myspace.com right now you can sign up for an invite when the new site launches and watch a video demo of the re-launch (it is also posted below).

Judging by the video, it looks like the days of seizure inducing Myspace pages are gone. The new design combines the best things from Facebook, Instagram, Last.fm, Pinterest and Twitter. The sleek and clean look of the site is a departure from the nightmare of glitter graphics and "Myspace Angle" photos.

This website will also place the focus back on music, as Myspace was originally intended to be. You can create playlists for photo albums and there is a toolbar at the bottom that includes a playlist for music.

However, I could see this site being very confusing for first time users since most options are "hidden". I could try to explain all the features I saw, but I think I wouldn't do it justice. Just check out the video below.

I deleted my Myspace page back in 2010, and it was a sad moment for me. I'm very excited about the new Myspace and may start up a new account to give it a try.

Check out the video and tell me if you think the same way.
