Splash Data Releases A List Of the 25 Worst Passwords In 2012
Consider how many social networking sites, email services, or various other passwords you have to create on the internet. Do you think your's is a good one?
SplashData makes various security applications for mobile devices. They made their list based on shared documents that hackers complied full of stolen passwords.
At the top of the list of worst passwords, is 'password'. It has topped the list for many years (and is also the subject of a lawsuit against a cancelled game show). New to the list were 'ninja', 'jesus', and 'mustang'.
They suggest using longer passwords, and to avoid anything personal (like the name of relatives). They also suggest avoiding simple words found in a dictionary, programs that hackers use can easily crack these.
