Ten years ago today, on March 26, 2011, I cracked the GBF mic for the very first time. It's hard to believe it's been a decade already but it has been an amazing 10 years.

Over the last decade, my life has changed in some pretty tremendous ways. I won't get into all of the personal ups and downs but one of the biggest parts of  my life over the last decade has been this radio station. On good days and bad days, GBF has always been here. This is my safe space. I know that may sound weird but no matter what kind of battle I'm facing in my personal life or what's going on in the outside world, radio has been my constant.

June 2021 will mark my sixteenth year in this industry. I've not quite been around long enough to be considered an "old timer" yet but I'm not a newbie but I'm definitely what you might call a "lifer." I can't imagine doing anything else. Radio, particularly rock radio, is in my blood. In fact, my entire career has been working in the rock radio format. Even when I did mornings on our Top-40 sister station, KISS 106 for six years, I was still on the air on GBF. Rock radio just isn't something that really ever leaves.

Four years ago I blessed to find myself jumping feet first into my dream job and I took over as Brand Manager for the station. I really am truly grateful for the opportunity to do what I love every single day. I work with the most amazing people on and off mic and there is no doubt that GBF has the very best listeners! So if you're reading this, I just want to say thank you for being part of my journey. It's because of you that I get to do what I love every single day. Here's to another 10 years! 🖤 Kat
