A new innovative app has just been released to help you plan out your April, 8th total solar eclipse experience.

The Eclipse App from The Planetary Society and The Eclipse Company

The Planetary Society, led by Bill Nye - the Science Guy, and The Eclipse Company have collaborated to create a mobile app to help you get the most out of your eclipse viewing experience, and the features of the app are quite extraordinary.

Find Your Viewing Location with the Eclipse App

Inside the app, built by Stephen Watkins and Jesse Tomlinso, you can choose which state you are interested in viewing the total solar eclipse from, and from there it will give you all of the communities within the path of totality, including their total time of totality. Once you select a location, you will be able to access all kinds of information.

“The Planetary Society and The Eclipse Company have partnered on the Eclipse App to help people get in the path and witness the total solar eclipse of 2024. The next eclipse won’t sweep through these parts ‘til 2044. Download the app, and plan your day on April 8th. A total solar eclipse is an out-of-this-world experience — right here on Earth.”

—Bill Nye, CEO, The Planetary Society

Eclipse App Free Version Features

With the free version of the app, you can explore community locations, planned events, and viewing sites, as well as times of totality.
