Laura Vandervoort — Today’s Crush
Beautiful, blonde Canadian actress Laura Vandervoort, who co-stars alongside Mark Wahlberg and a stuffed bear voiced by Seth MacFarlane in the just-opened film ‘Ted,’ is our Crush of the Day.
First discovered in her teens, Vandervoort, 27, landed roles on the Canadian children’s series ‘Goosebumps’ and ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’ Vandervoort also had roles in many Canadian TV shows that you probably have never heard of, unless you are from Canada or really like hockey.
In addition to attaining a second degree black belt in karate, Vandervoort played football, baseball, tennis, basketball and gymnastics as a child. You’re lucky to have managed one of those, dude.
Vandervoort made an appearance on ‘CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’ in 2007, which led to her being cast as ‘Kara Kent,’ on the CW Superman origins show ‘Smallville.’ As the hot cousin of Clark Kent, Kara Kent (Vandervoort) eventually transformed into Supergirl, appearing in both Season 8 and Season 10. Vandervoort also appeared as one of the alien visitors on ABC-TV series ‘V’ in 2009.
Vandervoort was listed among Maxim Magazine’s 100 Hottest Women in 2011. Earlier this year, Vandervoort had a role in ‘This Means War,’ starring Reese Witherspoon and Chris Pine. With ‘Ted’ raking in millions at the box office, Vandervoort may be poised to become a breakout star in 2012.
