Hauntings at Whispers Estate
The Whispers Estate was built in 1894, so there is a lot of creepy history that's taken place at the estate. It's said the Whispers Estate was purchased in 2006 after being abandoned for several years. During restorations, disembodied voices were heard, and it's said that the walls "whispered" constantly, the whispering walls earned the Whispers Estate its creepy name.
According to the Whispers Estate website, the house was purchased in 1899 by Dr. John and Jessie Gibbons. Throughout the time they lived in the house they had many strange happenings. They adopted a few children, and one was a girl named Rachael. It's said that when Rachael was 10 she set fire to the front parlor where she was badly burned and later succumbed to her injuries. Legend has it that Rachael never left the house, and still likes to "play" around, the house. Visitors to Whispers Estate have reported seeing and hearing a young child playing about.
This is just one of many stories about people who died in the Whispers Estate. Judging by the amount of paranormal activity it seems some people never left. You can read more of the Whispers Estate haunted history, on their website, here.
