Scam Artist A$$hole Is Busted!

Back in the 80's, my dear, late grandmother contracted a man to do some home improvement work for her.  This man, who I remember vividly, asked for money uupfront to do the reapirs.  This should have been a red flag, but we were naive'.   The guy bilked my Grandma June for over a grand and did only the very beginnings of the job he was supposed to do.  After we all caught on and came to our senses, the police were called and eventually the P.O.S was arrested.  My grandmother was not the only one ripped off though. There were several senior citizens, who without knowing better, made the same mistake.  The douchebag's name that worked the home improvement scam is named James Galloway.  I was suprised to see his mug shot in the news and that the jackwag was stupid enough to continue his ways.  His life of stealing is over!   Here's some info about Galloway from the website independencetimes.com.

On July 23, 2011, James Keith Galloway was in jail in Warrick County for the charges of:

•  Home Improvement Fraud
• Intimidation
• Habitual Offender

EPD can confirm that several cases concerning James Galloway are currently being investigated by the EPD, the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office and the Indiana State Police.  Victims state Galloway offers to do work for them, then collects a down payment.  Some victims say Galloway will start work but then does not complete the job.  Other victims claim Galloway will collect a down payment and then not do any of the work.  Most reporting contact with Galloway are elderly.  Many times, when contacted by Law Enforcement, Galloway will return all or a portion of the money collected.  Galloway is not a licensed contractor in Vanderburgh County.

Citizens are reminded to screen potential contractors thoroughly.  Be very leery of paying for work before work is completed.  Require a contract that includes an end date for the work to be completed.
