Myles Kennedy Guests on New Song From Lamb of God’s Mark Morton
Another new track from Lamb of God guitarist Mark Morton's solo album has surfaced. This one, "Save Defiance," features singer Myles Kennedy of Alter Bridge and Slash and it's one of the heaviest things he's done. Korn drummer Ray Luzier and Alice in Chains bassist Mike Inez also guested on the song.
Kennedy has never shied away from the high notes throughout his career and here, his upper register really shines. "Save Defiance" is a mid-paced track laced with ominous passages, perfectly toeing the line between hard rock and heavy metal, pleasing fans on both sides of that fence.

The two previous songs to be released were "Cross Off" and "The Truth Is Dead." Late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington was featured on "Cross Off" while Morton's Lamb of God bandmate Randy Blythe joined in on "The Truth Is Dead" alongside Arch Enemy vocalist Alissa White-Gluz.
Speaking to Loudwire about working with Bennington, Morton said, “He didn’t have to be there, he didn’t have to come record a song with the guitar player from Lamb of God. He did it because he loved the tune and because he was excited about screaming again and being on something more metal, a little heavier.”
Morton's solo debut, Anesthetic, will be out on March 1 through Spinefarm Records and WPP Records.
