Financial Pressure Driving Stress Levels
One of the biggest contributing factors appears to be financial hardship.
According to the study, Kentucky has one of the highest unemployment rates in the country, the sixth-highest bankruptcy rate, and relatively low average credit scores. These financial pressures can create long-term stress that affects nearly every aspect of daily life.
Family And Health Challenges Also Play A Role
Stress in Kentucky isn’t just about money.
The report also highlights elevated levels of family-related stress, including higher rates of separation, divorce, and parental strain. On top of that, health concerns continue to be a major issue, with nearly a quarter of residents reporting their health as fair or poor.
Mental health also stands out, with Kentucky ranking among the highest states for depression and poor mental health indicators.
