If you are a parent of a teen today, there is a good chance that your kids have come home and had a conversation with you or their friends where they have said a few words or phrases that you have never heard before. Slang terms aren't anything new; however, it seems like there are more that come and go in a given year than ever before.

As a parent, I have heard my fair share of slang terms where I  had to ask my kids what they meant. The sad part is when you ask them, and even they don't even know what they mean, they just say that everyone is saying it. That's when you take out your phone and try to search that term to find out what in the world your kids are talking about. Then, you try to say that phrase or word in front of your kid, once you have a grasp of what it means, only to get that annoyed eye roll, followed by them saying, "Don't ever say that again."

The analysis also identified the top 10 most-searched slang terms in Kentucky during 2025. I honestly only recognized a handful on the list, and the ones I didn’t recognize, I don’t think I’ve actually heard my kids say, thankfully!

I'm sure it's one that your kids have said recently too. There are some on this list that if I ever heard my kids say, they would be in some serious trouble.
