Meet the Adorable New Employees Bringing Comfort to Deaconess

There are three new faces making the rounds at Deaconess hospitals, and they might just be the cutest employees in the entire healthcare system.

Meet Chance, Jade, and Bentley, the inaugural members of the new Deaconess Comfort Crew Therapy Dog Program.

Each of these very bestest pups has been given an equally impressive job title and an important assignment: bringing a little extra comfort and positivity to patients and employees.

Meet the Deaconess Comfort Crew

Chance is a two-year-old miniature goldendoodle serving as the Director of Pawsitivity at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.

Jade, a one-year-old miniature golden mountain doodle, has taken on the role of Chief Comfort Officer at Deaconess Midtown Hospital.

And Bentley, a one-year-old English cream golden retriever, is the Director of Paws at Deaconess Memorial Medical Center.

Personally, I think Deaconess may have just assembled the cutest executive team in Southern Indiana.

Therapy Dogs Bring Comfort to Patients and Employees

Of course, their adorable job titles come with some very real responsibilities.

Each therapy dog is paired with a human handler who makes rounds with them every day. Together, they visit patients and Deaconess employees who could use some additional comfort.

According to Deaconess, the three dogs have already become beloved celebrities at their respective hospitals, spreading positivity everywhere they go.

Deaconess Hopes to Add More Therapy Dogs

Chance, Jade, and Bentley are only the beginning.

The Comfort Crew Therapy Dog Program was made possible through support from the Deaconess Foundation and Deaconess Memorial Medical Center Foundation, and Deaconess says it hopes to expand the program with additional dogs in the years ahead.

In the meantime, Chance, Jade, and Bentley have some very important work to do.
