I just found out that the state of Illinois, through the Illinois Department of Agriculture, collects and packages up its own food “box” for holiday gifting. All the contents of the Illinois product box are from small businesses from across the “Land of Lincoln”. These small business are all producing food or food related products.

From Clinton to Alsip, and from Chicago to Freeburg. Illinois is full of flavor

There are two sizes of the “Illinois Product” boxes. An 11-product favorites box and a smaller 6-product holiday box. Because the contents do not overlap, if you wish to taste all of Illinois before the year is over, you can order both. Keep in mind, however, that quantities are limited.

In the bigger “favorites” box you’ll find an assortment of Turasky Meats snack sticks from Springfield. You’ll also get a package of Jacksonville-based Nothing Fancy decorative beeswax reusable wraps. Included in the box will be Anderson House's – Illinois Prairie Corn Chowder Mix (made in Gurnee). Chicago’s Big Shoulders coffee, Hardneck Romanian Red Hot Sauce from Garlic Breath Farms in Elburn.

The smaller holiday box is full of festive treats from across the state like: Mariah's Mums & More Christmas Jam from Clinton. Spiced orange nectar from Earth Candy in Granite City. And cinnamon sugar pecans from Voss Pecans in Carlyle.
