There is a great Facebook page called "Evansville, Pictures Of The Past" that every local resident should check out. Some of us that are a bit older will recognize many of the establishments and landmarks of our city including many that are long gone.

The Facebook page "Evansville, Pictures Of The Past" includes many more great photos than I have included here. Some of the photos I published in the gallery are personal to me and some are merely great reflections in time.

From my past, it begins with the Grand Theater where my grandfather worked in the 20's and 30's as an artist drawing movie posters. That beautiful theater was located where the Fifth Third bank is now.

There's the Washington Theater, which was at Washington and Kentucky where I worked an usher while in high school.

The Ross Theater where I played in a band and saw many great local bands. I also hosted the first midnight showing of Rocky Horror Picture Show and got pelted with everything from rice to chicken fat.

Funky's nightclub once stood behind Blush and the LeMerigot hotel. I worked as a DJ there when it was called Funky's 2 in the mid 80's.

Sandy's restaurant turned into Hardees. Burger Chef had several locations in town, one of which was across from Bosse High School. That's where the Bosse kids who smoked would go for lunch and hang out for a lunchtime puff.

There are a few more great historical photos in the gallery that shows from whence we have come and so many things that I miss from my younger years.

For tons of great photos contributed by local residents, go here and browse. It's an awesome trip down memory lane!
