Remember the joy of rising early on Christmas morning to find a mound of brightly wrapped packages piled under a twinkling evergreen as a child? Remember the chill of the morning air, the smell of the tree and the feeling that everyone else is moving in slow motion when all you want to do is tear into the presents? What if you had awoken one Christmas morning to IV tubes, needles and the feeling of being away from the comforts of home? Mustering the Christmas spirit would be a challenge… especially for a child.

This weekend, Townsquare Media and Henderson Chevrolet are sponsoring 911 Gives Hope for the Holidays. For three days, local police officers, firefighters, medics, Townsquare Media on-air talent and Henderson Chevrolet employees will be camping out in the parking lot of the east-side Wal-Mart to collect toys for children who are spending the holidays in Deaconess, Deaconess Gateway, St. Mary’s, Methodist Henderson, Evansville Ronald McDonald House, and the State Children’s Hospital in Evansville.
