350 Pounds of Cocaine Seized From Semi Truck Could Be Indiana’s Largest Drug Bust
Police in Whiteland, Indiana, say they may have uncovered the largest cocaine bust in state history after seizing 350 pounds of the drug from a semi truck traveling through central Indiana. Authorities estimate the street value of the cocaine at approximately 16 million dollars.
How Police Discovered The Cocaine Inside The Semi Truck
Details of the case were shared publicly by Max Lewis, anchor and reporter for FOX 59 and CBS 4 in Indianapolis. According to police, the investigation began when a truck driver stopped at the Pilot Travel Center along Interstate 65. While checking his vehicle, the driver noticed the seal on his trailer had been tampered with. When he looked inside, he discovered several moving boxes that were not part of his original load.
Why The Size Of This Drug Seizure Is Raising Questions
The driver immediately contacted the police. Officers opened the boxes and found dozens of vacuum-sealed black bricks. When the packages were cut open, they were found to contain pure cocaine. The sheer volume of drugs led investigators to believe the seizure could surpass any previous cocaine bust in Indiana history.

Why No Arrests Have Been Made So Far
What makes the case especially unusual is what has not happened since. Police say they have exhausted all investigative leads and, so far, no arrests have been made. Investigators believe the drugs were placed inside the trailer without the driver’s knowledge while it was parked at the travel center. How that happened and who was responsible remain unanswered questions.
How Investigators Believe The Drugs Were Planted
Authorities are now seeking the public's help. Anyone who may have seen suspicious activity involving the semi truck or the trailer at the Pilot Travel Center along I-65 is asked to contact Whiteland Police. Even small details could help investigators determine how the drugs were planted and where they were headed.
How The Public Can Help With The Ongoing Investigation
The case highlights how drug trafficking operations can exploit everyday commercial routes and unsuspecting drivers. The investigation remains open as detectives work to piece together how such a massive quantity of cocaine ended up inside a legitimate shipment.
