Coffee Never Smelled As Sweet
Whether you like it hot or iced, cold brew or espresso, as a lover of coffee, we can all agree that we need this nectar of the Gods in our lives. Coffee is like a friend that never lets you down. It is always there and it always makes you feel good - especially if you have a nuerodivergent, dopamine-deficient brain like me.
Humble Roots - A Shephard, Some Goats, and a Tree
Coffee has been around for hundreds of years. There is even a legend of a shepherd who discovered coffee after seeing his goats become more energetic after eating from a certain tree. According to the National Coffee Association, that legend says,
...that Kaldi discovered coffee after he noticed that after eating the berries from a certain tree, his goats became so energetic that they did not want to sleep at night.
Kaldi reported his findings to the abbot of the local monastery, who made a drink with the berries and found that it kept him alert through the long hours of evening prayer. The abbot shared his discovery with the other monks at the monastery, and knowledge of the energizing berries began to spread.
National and International Love
Coffee is well-loved all over the globe. In the United States and Canada, National Coffee Day is celebrated on September 29, 2024. For the rest of the world, the beautiful bean juice is celebrated with International Coffee Day on October 1, 2024. For this coffee lover, I will be celebrating both days and every day in between!
