High School can be tough sometimes. Luckily, there's rock out there that helped us through it.

Now, to be fair, I was an emo kid in high school. So I've excluded all of the obvious Fall Out Boy, Panic at the Disco, and Paramore albums from this list.

This list is specifically rock albums that helped me through the emotional struggle that was puberty and high school.

Green Day
American Idiot (2004)
21st Century Breakdown (2009)

Avenged Sevenfold
City of Evil (2005)

My Chemical Romance
Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge (2004)
The Black Parade (2006)

You bet your ass I was one of those MCR fan girls. I had all the posters, all the cd's, I even had all of their albums on vinyl. I don't own a record player...

To this day, my heart still involuntarily skips a beat when I hear a G note.

Evanescence
Fallen (2003)

Linkin Park
Hybrid Theory (2000)
Meteora (2003)

Breaking Benjamin
Phobia (2006)
Dear Agony (2009)

AFI
December Underground (2006)

The #1 thing I will always remember about this album is that it came out on 6/6/06.

Three Days Grace
One-X (2006)

Arguably their best album.

Atreyu
Lead Sails, Paper Anchor (2007)

Shinedown
The Sound of Madness (2008)

Admit it, the first time you heard this song, all other thoughts fled your head and your only remaining thought was "WHAT. IS THIS..." And I mean that in the BEST way.

Theory of a Deadman
Scars & Souvenirs (2008)

Beastie Boys
Licensed to Ill (1986)

My freshman year of high school, my mom and I were at Joe's Records and she found Licensed to Ill on sale. She bought it, and later gave it to me saying that it was an album that got her through high school. And, low and behold, it got me through too.

What's an album that got YOU through high school?
