This December, I celebrate my 36th year in Evansville radio, nearly all of that spent on the 103.1 frequency.  Whether it was KC103 in the 80's or 103GBF in the late 80's until now, I have been lucky to hear all kinds of new music, most of it never made it onto the radio for very long.  I love rock...I bleed it.I'm accepting of pretty much all genres of rock, but I enjoy very few other styles of music. Country and Top40 are too manufactured.   I appreciate Blues and Jazz because they are heartfelt and usually include some great musicianship.   But Rock is in my heart and below are five videos that represent some of my guilty pleasures of the genre that I have run across through my time in radio.  Notice, Nickelback isn't a guilty pleasure.  I think they serve a purpose as far as radio goes, but for my own enjoyment they are not on the list.  See what you think about the songs below, and feel free to comment at the bottom of the page!  BTW, sorry for the quality of some of these videos!

Savatage - Power of the Night

These guys are now known as the Trans-Siberian Orchestra

UFO - Lights Out

This is my all time favorite band, UFO.  Michael Schenker is a guitar god!

Y&T - Mean Streak

Always Loved Y&T from the very start. Dave Meneketti, great vocalist and guitarist

Kim Mitchell - Go For a Soda

Kim Mitchell was the frontman for a band called "Max Webster".  He went solo and recorded this awesome song.

Insiders - Ghost on the Beach

Hard to pick only 5, but this song is one of my biggest faves.  Lyrically it's awesome.  Musically, very cool too.  It's The Insiders, a band from Chicago and the only song they ever released that made it onto the radio.

Urge Overkill - Sister Havana

Honorable Mention...Urge Overkill "Sister Havana"

You have guilty pleasures?  What do you think about mine.  Comment below if you like!
