Woman Allows 9 Year Old to Drive – Crashes Into Evansville Cemetery

A 48-year old woman has been arrested on charges of neglect and criminal mischief after she allowed a 9-year old little girl climb into her lap to control the pedals and steering of a car on Monday night. The car went off the road and ultimately crashed into several gravestones at Locust Hill Cemetery & Arboretum causing more than $2500 in damages. After taking the woman to the hospital to be checked over for pain, she was arrested and placed into jail. According to 14News, the woman, Jemie Lee Robertson of Chandler, Indiana, has a suspended license and failed to provide proof of insurance. She is being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail without bond.
