It's no secret that ever since the COVID-19 pandemic, employers in just about every industry are having a hard time hanging on to employees. More and more people are quitting, so much so that this time in our country's history has been dubbed the "Great Resignation."

WalletHub looked at the rate at which people quit their jobs in both the latest month and the last 12 months and used that data to rank the 50 states and the District of Columbia with the highest to lowest job resignation rates.

Who Has the Highest Resignation Rate?

According to this report, KENTUCKY is #1 on the list with the highest combined resignation rate in America. The Bluegrass state had a resignation rate of 3.60% in the last month (the highest in the country), and a rate of 3.57% in the last 12 months (5th highest).

Who Has the Lowest Resignation Rate?

At the other end of the list, all the way down at #51, is Massachusetts, where they had a 1.50% resignation rate last month, and 2.07% over the last year.


What About the Rest of the Tri-State?

Indiana landed at #18 on the list with a resignation rate of 2.80% last month and 3.09% over the last year - nothing to write home about. Illinois, on the other hand, performed pretty well in this report. The Land of Lincoln comes in at #37 with a resignation rate of 2.30% last month and 2.46% over the last year.
