There is always speculation over which order is the "right order" to watch the movies in. So who's right?

On May 4th, Star Wars Day, I always try to watch at least 2 Star Wars movies that night. BUT since this years Star Wars Day falls on a Friday, I'm going to be up all night doing a proper marathon.

The only problem is, no one can agree on which way is the right way to watch all the movies in order.

Some people say you have to watch them in the order they were released:

Episode IV: A New Hope
Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
Episode VI: Return of the Jedi
Episode I: The Phantom Menace
Episode II: The Clone Wars
Episode III: Revenge of the Sith
Episode VII: The Force Awakens
Rogue One
Episode VIII: The Last Jedi

Some argue that you should watch Rogue One BEFORE A New Hope, since it leads right into it. But on the other hand, Rogue One has no title card sequence at the beginning, so if you watch that one first, you're going in blind. You are given no information about what's happening. All you're told is that it takes place in a galaxy far, far away...and good luck figuring out the rest.

Others say you have to watch the episodes in numerical order, not by the order they came out. (Episode I, II, III, IV, V...etc.) You can add Rogue One before A New Hope if you want to, but some people say that Rogue One shouldn't be in a Star Wars marathon because it's "not really part of the anthology". To which I say "Those people didn't give their lives for the rebellion for you to kick them out of the anthology! Without them we wouldn't HAVE an anthology!" Sorry, spoilers.

Many people, however, say that a true Star Wars marathon should only include A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, the Force Awakens, and the Last Jedi. They just Order 66 the prequels all together because they hate them so much.

(I am one of those people. Like, it was nice to see those movies when they first came out. But please, for the love of god, never make me watch them again.)

So, what's the true order? By release date? By numerical order? Do I cut out the first three? (Yes.) Or Rogue One? (No. Rogue stays.)

So what is the true order?

Well that's easy.

The First Order.

I'll see myself out.
