1,000 cans of green beans.  485 cans of mushroom soup.  65 quarts of milk.  95 pounds of French fried onions.  That's what was used to absolutely shatter the world record for the largest green bean casserole.  This thing is a monster!

Not only did this casserole break the previous world record, it shattered it.  The previous record holder weighed in at 637 pounds.  This one tipped the scale at 1009 pounds.

Now, if you want to make a more reasonably sized green bean casserole . . . you know, one that will fit on your Thanksgiving table . . . here's a quick and easy recipe for you.

GREEN BEAN CASSEROLE

2 cans (14.5 oz each) French-style green beans, drained
1 can (10.5 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup milk
1 container (2.8 oz) French-fried onions
Directions:
Heat oven to 350°F. In 1 1/2-quart casserole or glass baking dish, mix green beans, soup and milk.
Bake 20 to 25 minutes, topping with onions during last 5 minutes of baking, until bubbly.
