Several months ago, Thirty Seconds to Mars announced they would be releasing A Day in the Life of America. The documentary would consist of footage shot on July 4, 2017, as a challenge from frontman Jared Leto to fans to capture what they consider America to represent. Now, Thirty Seconds to Mars have released the first glimpse of that, coming in the form of their new music video for "Walk on Water."

The video presents a variety of different shots from all across the country, from as huge a scope of people as possible. Footage has been collected from fans, and professional film crews alike, cutting together to create a poignant visual. Visuals include parades, prayer by numerous religious groups, military, rural communities, ultra urban scenes, births and people of all different races.

Interspersed through the video are stats delivered by the band, facts like 99% of Americans descending from immigrants, that it's home to 313 different religions and more. Jared Leto shows up occasionally in the video, mostly to ride a helicopter into some fireworks and comment on the project. The rest is all America.

There's still no release date set for A Day in the Life of America, but the music video gives a good insight into what will be found from the project. Leto and company unveiled the single "Walk on Water" several months ago with a new lyric video. The group would go onto premiere the song's live performance at the 2017 VMAs, where each member played in pitch black and under infrared visuals, along with help from rapper Travis Scott.

With only one film in post-production with Leto, it seems as though 2018 will be a big year for the band to return, and hopefully "Walk on Water" is just the beginning.
