While navigating a global pandemic, one cannot imagine adding a natural disaster into the mix, but that is the reality for many who have recently experienced tornados touching down in their hometowns.

This is Severe Weather Preparedness Week in Indiana.

Yesterday saw heavy winds, tornado warnings, and storm damage across the area.

Unless you slept through it, you know that a series of severe storms tore through parts of the Tri-State on Sunday afternoon. While most of Vanderburgh, Posey, and Warrick counties saw little to no damage as the storm broke a part and weakened as it entered those areas, our neighbors in Illinois and south of Henderson weren't as fortunate.

With the images and stories that have been coming out of Moore, Oklahoma in recent days, many people are trying to find ways to help the residents of the town recover. Basketball player, Kevin Durant, stepped up in a big way.

The devastation in Moore, Oklahoma goes beyond comprehension and the death toll, unfortunately, continues to rise after yesterday's massive tornado that all but leveled the town of Moore. Your average person's response to a funnel cloud dropping in your back yard is probably pretty standard; grab some pillows and blankets, hunker down in the tub and hope you don't get swept away while holding the door closed Twister style.
