The Evansville/Vanderburgh County Emergency Management Agency posted the news of the frost advisory on Facebook.  It looks like a strong cold front is moving through and lows are anticipated to be in the lower to mid 30s. The good news is frost (if some does develop) should be gone once the sun is up.

Here's what the National Weather Service says about the frost:

WITH LOWS ANTICIPATED TO BE IN THE LOWER TO MID 30S, AND WINDS RELAXING AND BECOMING LIGHT DUE TO THE HIGH PRESSURE SYSTEM, FROST MAY FORM TONIGHT.

WE ARE ABOUT TWO WEEKS AHEAD OF WHEN THE NORMAL FIRST FROST OF THE SEASON IS. FROST WILL BE MOST LIKELY IN OUTLYING AND SHELTERED AREAS. SOME AREAS MAY SEE LITTLE OR NO FROST. IT SHOULD BURN OFF QUICKLY EARLY SATURDAY MORNING, SHORTLY AFTER THE SUN IS UP.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PADUCAH HAS ISSUED A FROST ADVISORY, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM TO 8 AM CDT SATURDAY.

* WHERE...SOUTHEAST MISSOURI, SOUTHERN ILLINOIS, SOUTHWEST INDIANA AND WESTERN KENTUCKY.

* WHEN...LATE TONIGHT THROUGH SUNRISE SATURDAY MORNING.

* IMPACTS...VEGETATION, SUCH AS SENSITIVE OUTDOOR PLANTS MAY BE DAMAGED OR KILLED.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FROST ADVISORY MEANS THAT FROST IS EXPECTED. SENSITIVE OUTDOOR PLANTS MAY BE KILLED IF LEFT UNCOVERED.
