Louder Than Life Day One Heats Up Louisville
Things heated up at the Kentucky Expo Center's Highland Expo Center, and it wasn't just the energy from the seven stages. With a high temperature of 91° today and a heat index reaching up to 97°, hydration and sunscreen have been essential.
Air Quality Alert Adds Challenge for Festival Fans
As if the heat weren't enough, the region is also under an air quality alert through 12 AM Friday. The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District and the Indiana Department of Environmental Management have issued a Code Orange Air Quality Alert for Ozone for Louisville and the surrounding areas.

Members of sensitive groups may experience health effects. The general public is not likely to be affected. Sensitive groups include the elderly...children...persons with asthma or other breathing problems...and persons with lung and heart disease. People in these groups are advised to limit their outdoor activities to reduce their exposure to ozone and particulate pollution. -Accuweather
