Local TV plays Musical Chairs!
From the website of our news partners at News25.us: Your television lineup is going to change this summer. According to a press release on WEVV's website, Fox Broadcasting Company has signed an agreement with the owner of WEVV/Channel 44 to launch a new FOX affiliate in Evansville.
Fox will let its affiliation agreement with WTVW/Channel 7 expire in June.
WEVV-TV D2 will become MY FOX 44 and will broadcast both FOX and
MyNetwork programming. A trade publication, Broadcasting & Cable, reports MY FOX 44 will start on July 1. The agreement will not affect CBS programming on WEVV's primary channel. Ultimately, this means WTVW will be a TV station without a network affiliate. The CW maybe? Stay tuned for details on this shake-up!
