Amid all of the closings and changes taking place all across the United States, Kentucky State Parks are the latest to implement changes. According to the Kentucky State Park Website, these new operations and scheduling changes begin today, Saturday, March 21, 2020. From the website:

The unprecedented impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) has led to some changes for Kentucky State Parks. The health and safety of our guests and staff is important to us and we have made some adjustments in our park operations and schedules.
As of March 21, 2020, here’s what’s open and what has changed:
•    Food services will be limited to carry out at most parks. No seating will be available in the dining rooms at the parks 17 restaurants. Lounges and bars are closed. The restaurant at Blue Licks Battlefield State Resort Park is closed.
•    Group events are cancelled through April 30.
•    Park events scheduled through April 30 have been cancelled or postponed. Patrons should check with individual parks to find out about park services and hours.
•    Most historic homes and museums are open based on normal operating winter and spring hours. Park grounds are open for hiking, picnicking and exploring. The museum and gift shop at John James Audubon State Park are closed.
•    All 17 lodges and cottages remain open. Housekeeping services will be limited during this time as a precaution for guests and employees.
•    All state park campgrounds, golf courses, marinas and hiking trails remain open to the public.
•    Some boat ramps operated by the U.S. Corps of Engineers may be closed. Please check by visiting corps websites.

The Kentucky State Parks encourage anyone planning a visit to call in advance to check for hours of operation and to confirm what is open at the location you plan to visit. The state of Kentucky has also established a website for Covid-19 updates and information that you can visit here.
