Is There Really a Difference Between Oils for Cooking?

As much Food Network as I watch, you would think that I would know better than to cook with any oil that is on sale. But I recently learned that higher quality oils are fresher than the kind you find at the grocery or Walmart. There are even different flavors that can drastically enhance your favorite recipes.

Oil and Vinegar Don't Mix. False!

There is an old proverb that says 'Oil and vinegar don't mix'. So, when I heard about the combination of oil and vinegar for recipes, and drinks, I had to taste it to believe it.  When my friend Holly offered me a sample of olive oil and balsamic vinegar with an espresso flavor I didn't know what I was in for. I can totally see why real cooks and chefs seek out these combinations.

Unique Oil & Vinegar Combinations:

Milanese Gremolata Olive Oil is one of the most sought-after oil varieties. Just last year, you would have to travel to Carmel, Indiana to buy a bottle. But now, The Wine Vault in Evansville carries a huge assortment of the infused oils. Their Olive & Vine brand is unique to Southern Indiana.

You Could Own Madonna's Family Vineyard & Winery

The iconic Ciccone Vineyard and Winery has hit the market in Northern Michigan for a little under $5 million.

If the Ciccone name sounds familiar, it's because it's the birth name of the Material Girl. Madonna Louise Ciccone is one of Silvio 'Tony' Ciccone's eight children. The vineyard was founded by Ciccone and his wife Joan in 1995.

The property also includes a beautiful, 3,500 square foot winemaker's home, which has five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.
