Windy Hollow Biscuit House Revives Its $2.50 Thanksgiving Buffet in Owensboro
What are you doing for Thanksgiving dinner? Are you traveling to be with family? Are you staying put, preparing the bird yourself, and awaiting the arrival of throngs of loved ones? Or is your big day with the family set for another day besides the fourth Thursday in November?
Windy Hollow Biscuit House
If you answered "C," then I have a nice and welcome surprise for you. But first, let's go back to 2022. Windy Hollow Biscuit House proprietor Evelyn Miller and her daughter, Hallie McCarty, as a wonderful service to the community, offered up a "pay-as-you-can" Friendsgiving celebration at the restaurant, located on Emory Drive in Owensboro.

As you can imagine, it was an enormous hit and returned the following year, and with some cool nostalgia attached. In 2023, Evelyn and Hallie served up what you see on this old ad from 56 years ago. Of course, they added a few of their own touches.
Thanksgiving Dinner for $2.50
I've known Evelyn, whom I've always called "Rooster" (her longtime nickname), practically my whole life. I have known Hallie her whole life. For them to honor Rooster's dad, Hal Miller, an Owensboro icon, by offering a Thanksgiving buffet for just $2.50 is very special in multiple ways. We attended last year with friends, and then made new ones. You see, the tables are all set up community-style, so nobody eats alone. It's as it should be on Thanksgiving Day.
I'm not sure what you have planned for the Thanksgiving holiday. But if you have no plans that day, we hope to see you at Windy Hollow Biscuit House. It will be a blast. It will be inexpensive. And it will most certainly be delicious.
