When Bob Roberts's daughter was searching for Santa to ride the Owensboro trolley some Christmases ago, she didn't have to look very far.  One glance at Bob, and it is crystal clear that he was made to be one of the "Big Man's" helpers. With his white beard, jolly figure, and a kind smile that radiates in every photo, it's his fun personality that brings Santa to life. Pardon the pun, but you could say he is perfectly suited for the part.

My friend Laura Muhlenberg has been his "Head Elf" over the years and told me "Bob has a passion for spreading the joy of Christmas and it really comes across." Creating magical Holiday memories for kiddos of all ages and even furry friends here in the tri-state, the duo recently traveled to Dublin, Georgia to show some love to the patients at a veteran's hospital there. This "Christmas in July" trip was especially important to Laura who is retired from the U.S. Marine Corps, "We visited every patient even the ones in hospice, and the hospital was decorated to the nines. They made t-shirts and hosted a nice banquet." Sous Chef Santa helped prepare the meal for everyone.

This season, Laura will join Bob in the fun. We joked that she was getting a promotion! "I'm going to be a fancy version of Ms. Claus. I can't pull off a white beehive, that's just not 'me' so I am going all glam. With a floor-length red cape,  red leather gloves, and red knee-high boots all trimmed with white fur."

You'll be able to find them for pictures and to plead your case for a spot on the nice list all around town until the big day. Starting with this weekend at Trinity Episcopal Church for the Annual Christmas Mart.
