Popular Thyroid Medication Recalled Nationwide
For people with thyroid conditions, levothyroxine can make a big difference in their quality of life. If you take this medication, you'll want to be aware of a new recall.
Major Rugby drug distributors have issued an urgent recall for several levothyroxine products after routine stability testing found the medication did not meet specifications for potency. According to the recall notice, using the affected product is not expected to cause adverse health effects, but it may not work as effectively as intended. According to the letter sent to distributors, it was issued starting in January 2025.
Major Rugby recommends checking your medication to see if it's part of the recall. If you have an affected product, stop using it and return it to the place where you purchased it.
