I've always said it's a dream of mine to be proposed to under the stars or a ton of colorful hot air balloons. Okay, I've never said any of that, but now I am. After seeing what the Great Galena Balloon Race has looked like in previous years, this is a must-visit event this summer.

From June 20th to the 22nd, the Balloon Race is returning to 400 Eagle Ridge Drive in Galena. Just look how pretty it is... breathtaking!

Reason #1? THE VIEW. That's ALL the reasons.
Gates open at 5pm on Friday and Saturday, with live music, inflatables for kids to enjoy, then the race starts at 6pm. Admission is $5/adult and $3/kid.
Saturday, there's also a classic car show at 6pm, plus early Saturday and Sunday a race will take place at 5am. Bright and early! If you're an early riser, you definitely have to experience this race. The colors of the sky, the hot air balloons, and a stunning view that will be engrained in your brain forever. Who doesn't want to enjoy that?!
