Teenagers Will Surprise You

A woman went to eat at Taco Bell in Newburgh, and what she watched transpire turned into a Facebook post that is going viral. Additionally, the mission to find one incredibly sweet teenage boy still lingers. Jennie Bailey was escorting her teenage son and his Valentine's date to dinner when she witnessed an act of kindness that will bring tears to your eyes. I've always said, if you get the chance to speak with someone older than you, you should sit still, ask questions, and listen. Rarely will you find more wisdom than in these opportunistic moments. This is what Jennie got to witness in real time on this evening. After having a conversation at the counter with a gentleman named Dan, Jennie watched as Dan sat alone at a table, eating his Valentine's Day meal. Another young man was sitting nearby with two young women. The young man got up, walked to Dan's table, wished him a Happy Valentine's Day, and asked if they could join him. They proceeded to eat their meal and converse throughout the evening. As Jennie posted, it's a moment no one will soon forget, and most likely made Dan's day. I know this story made my day. Friendly Reminder That It's Not Hard To Pay It Forward

As noted from Jennie's post, the young man is still unknown, but wouldn't it be awesome if we could find a way to tell his parents they deserve a high five? Don't they deserve to know they have a young man being awesome? It's not hard to be kind and pay it forward in the little ways. Hold a door open for someone, tell a stranger you hope they have a great day, smile at someone who seems sad, and have a meal with a stranger. It's not hard to make someone else's day, and it never hurts to put a little good back in the universe.
