Big "B" Barbecue

Back in June of 2023 word got out that Big "B" Barbecue was no longer being made and we started to see it disappear from grocery store shelves across the Tri-State. This was a pretty devastating blow to BBQ fans across the Tri-State because Big "B" has been a staple in our area for decades.

According to Big "B" Barbecue's website Big "B" Barbecue was founded in the early 1960s, but the roots of Big "B" actually date back to the 1920s.

In 1962, John Bonenberger founded Big “B” Barbecue in Chandler, Indiana. Big B was a full line barbecue restaurant and canner of barbecue pork and sauce in glass jars. The roots of Big B goes back to the late 1920’s when Floyd Baugh had the dream of his own barbecue restaurant. After moving to Indiana, he opened a barbecue restaurant outside of Chandler, Indiana. When John purchased the restaurant, he had a vision to take the Baugh’s recipe to the next level. In 1962, he developed the brand and began selling what is now a local staple, the barbecue sauce with sliced pork in a jar.

Big "B" Barbecue is Back!

After a few months of Big "B" Barbecue disappearing from grocery shelves, an update came from the local Facebook page for food enthusiasts, Fingers, Fork, Knife, and Spoon Evansville that has Big "B" fans very excited!

The update from Fingers, Fork, Knife, and Spoon Evansville says that Big "B" is back!

FOR LOVERS OF BIG B BAR-B-Q SAUCE, CHRISTMAS HAS COME JUST A LITTLE LATE!!
BIG B BAR-B-Q sauce is BACK at local Schnucks and IGA locations! It is on the shelves now and available for purchase!
An 18 oz. bottle sells for $3.39, and a 36 oz. bottle sells for $5.19. CRS-One found a new bottler and distributor and has been fine-tuning the recipe over the past few weeks to ensure the quality and flavor will be what everyone remembers! We are waiting to hear back on who the producer / distributor is and where they are located. From the label it appears to be in Evansville.
And yes, their Pork should also be back on the shelves in the next month or so! We will post more info as it is available!
