Latest Update On The Edge Of The Lakes In Boonville
The Edge Of The Lakes Slowly Moving Forward
First announced in 2023, the Edge Of The Lakes development in Boonville, Indiana, is finally getting some headway. Originally, the plan was proposed as an estimated $ 74 million project coming to Warrick County. The Edge would include a 140-room hotel, events center, training facilities for police and firefighters, a large lake and beach area, stores and restaurants, housing for veterans, miniature golf, indoor karting, an arcade, an amphitheater, and more. In fact, officials close to the project have compared it to Disneyland and Dollywood. While updates on the project have been tight-lipped, we finally have some answers as to why. Upon announcing the project's plans back in 2023, organizers were overwhelmed by an outpouring of interest from additional investors, vendors, and developers eager to be part of the major project. Therefore, they've been quietly working in the background to enhance and improve the project with additional services and entertainment options.
“Once people found out about the intent, we had a dramatic response to be able to involve other companies, other organizations and other funding,” says Edge of Lakes COO Zac Guy. “It’s really culminated together a world class team that’s going to result in a never-before-seen venue.”
The Edge Finalizes Land Purchase
One of the issues delaying the progress of the development was land. Previous information stated the entire project would be on 271 acres near Boonville’s west side off Indiana 62, near Walmart. As of this week, the land has been officially acquired from the previous owners, and now building can move forward. Speaking of building, a groundbreaking date has not been set yet, but construction is expected to begin in the Spring of 2026. Not only will the project create thousands of local jobs, but with a business of this size, multiple careers will be up for grabs for locals. Another upside is the expectation of boosting the local economy by re-investing an estimated $30 million in tax dollars back into Warrick County. You can follow the progress on The Edge website (which is currently under construction) or their Facebook page. Here's an overview of the proposed golf course:
