Indiana Teachers Can Take Advantage of Grants for State Park Fieldtrips

Teachers in public and private schools across Indiana, as well as homeschool educators, can take advantage of grants to offset the cost to take students on field trips to state parks.

Grant to Get Indiana Students Outdoors

The Indiana Natural Resources Foundation offers grants to help educators get students outside to learn and discover. Any educators who teach Kindergarten through twelfth grade are eligible to apply.

More Than 18,000 Indiana Students Have Benefited

Thanks to the grants offered by the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation, more than 18,000 students from 174 schools have had the opportunity to visit state parks.

Many Outdoor Locations Across the State

In addition to the 24 state parks across the state of Indiana, there are also eight state-managed lakes, as well as two state recreation areas, and two off-road state recreation areas that are eligible for grant funding for field trips.

Students have the opportunity to engage and learn about Indiana's "fish, forest, wildlife, natural habitats, conservation and outdoor recreation opportunities."

Applications Are Now Being Accepted

The application process is open from May 1 - June 30th and all applications must be postmarked no later than June 30, 2023, for the 2023-2024 school year. The maximum grant amounts are $250 and those awarded grants will be notified no later than September 1st.
