Surprisingly, no fireworks were involved.

First of all, me getting a day off in the middle of the week is rare (As I'm sure it's rare for you as well.) What's even more rare is when all of your friends have that same day off. What do you do with yourselves?? It's an awkward 'middle of the week' day off. You work Monday, have Tuesday off, go back to work on Wednesday....How weird is that? Even though it's a day off, you know you can't do anything too crazy because you have work in the morning.

So, instead of doing what probably everyone else does on the 4th of July (AKA: Get together, chill outside and have cookout, watch/blow up fireworks, and drink. A lot.) We just chilled.

Going out and buying food for everyone to eat? That you have to cook? Too much effort.

Fireworks? Everyone else is going to be blowing them up. Watch there's and don't waste your money.

Chilling outside? And get eaten by bugs? No thank you.

So what did we do?

We watched Mean Girls.

And by "we watched Mean Girls" I mean that Mean Girls was on when I arrived and it was still on when other people arrived and we all had the unanimous "Psh, Mean Girls..?" reaction and then proceeded to sit there watching it and quoting the whole thing.

After that we decided to be a little bit more patriotic and put on Team America (AMERICA! F*** YEAH!)

Then played Cards Against Humanity until about midnight.

THAT is what everyone ELSE did...

I, on the other hand, was distracted by my friends new kitten; and after Mean Girls was over, this is how I spent the rest of my night:

This is how I'm spending the 4th of July... #catsofinstagram

I guess that's what happens when you let a kitten go wild on your hair.

I regret nothing.

Best 4th of July ever.
