Oh yeah, you read that headline correctly. There is currently a fund-raising effort on Indiegogo.com that is asking for funds to turn at least 200 acres of the motor city in to a full fledged zombie theme park.

Entrepreneur Mark Siwak has put forth the plan (with drawings that look like they were done by some insane 2nd grader), because he says he is tired of watching Detroit crumble and decay. Siwak says that plans to tear down parts of the city and return it to nature are unacceptable.

Siwak wants to make abandoned houses and crumbling factories in to the ultimate zombie survival experience. "Your group runs down the street and hides in an old warehouse. Is it safe in here?  Will the growing zombie horde pass without noticing you?  What about your supplies?  What about the friend that was lost in the chaos?  How long will you survive?  Will you make it through the night?" says the post on Indiegogo.

The idea is that supplies will be scattered through the 'park', you and your group would be responsible to find them and try to survive the night, or become part of the zombie horde chasing you. Named 'Z-World', Siwak believes the park could generate cash and much needed jobs to the city.

So far he has managed to raise nearly $6,000 dollars of the $145,000 he needs. Well if his fundraising fails, there is always the back up plan. Just let Detroit remain as it is and introduce Robocop to the police force.
