Kids these days have more gift options than their grandparents and maybe even their parents had. In my case, I have 5-year-old niece and her list is quite impressive. I'm sure you've heard of Hatchimals. I like to call it a Furby that's been repackaged in a egg for 2016. I have some other ideas for Zoey.

Zoey as a chef

Okay, so I could ONE, obviously buy her something that plays to her interest in becoming a chef or as she calls it a "cooker". Oddly enough, there used to be a Fry Daddy (the applicance kids!) at her house. I think it had to go the way of the Easy Bake Oven, which she did receive a couple of years ago from Santa. I didn't get one, but I'm no cooker. If I was a really cool aunt, I would get her some wild spices or I don't know, some baking things? I'm really lost here, moving on...

I loved band when I was in middle school and in high school. I knew from the age of 6 or 7, I wanted to play drums. I think it was all that MTV I watched mimicking the various rock and pop drummers I was obsessed with. Oh yes, if I really had my way, Zoey would get a drum set for sure! I have no professional music teaching experience, but I could totally teach her the basics. Watch out Shelia E!

Even after 40 years, all the cool kids still play some type of video game. I would 10 years or so ago, my sister and I got those joysticks that were loaded up with old school games like Pac-Man, Galaga, Dig Dug, Pole Position, etc. I recently gave Zoey one of them and she got it all hooked up in her bedroom, uh oh. Maybe someone will help her wrap up THIS for Aunt Erin.

Do they still sell these?

I know they still sell Easter baskets, the Care Bears, anyone know?

Adorable Toddler Boy Playing Basketball Barefoot Over White

Every boy and girl needs a basketball. I have a lot of jock in me, unfortunately, I stopped playing basketball after 8th grade. Dribbling a basketball is one of the first things my Dad taught me. Zoey's Dad is more of a baseball/softball guy, but me and her Papaw are going to try to get her going on b-ball too.
