Earlier this week, it was revealed that Eyehategod drummer Aaron Hill was attacked with a knife and robbed while in Mexico. The musician was reportedly assaulted by three men and a woman near the venue in Guadalajara where the band was set to play. Hill has now weighed in on social media with a thank you to fans for their support and an update on the situation.

“I wanna thank everyone who’s reached out to send their love and support these last few days, it really means a lot to me and I thank you,” says the drummer. “I’m home and doing well. I also wanna thank everyone at Foro Independencia and Show No Mercy for their help and a special thanks to everyone in attendance for showing up and understanding why we had to cancel.”

The musician continued, “I don’t blame anyone for the incident as this could’ve happened anywhere and I don’t agree with any negative comments about Mexico. I think Mexico is a beautiful place with great people and I look forward to returning and playing again See you all soon.”

Hill posted a photo of his bloodied Roky Erickson t-shirt along with his social media posting. Check that out below:

Though the incident affected the show, Eyehategod will return to the road later this month, kicking off a U.S. tour. See all their dates here.
