Evansville Shelter Hosting $25 Adoption Fees For the Rest of July To Empty the Shelter
The Vanderburgh Humane Society works hard to make sure many animals find their forever homes. Once again, they have teamed up with the BISSELL Pet Foundation to help empty animal shelters across the U.S.
Shelters are Struggling
Shelters all across the US are currently struggling with the pet overpopulation crisis. Just earlier this week I told you the story of the Vanderburgh Humane Society showing up to work to find 4 boxes filled with almost two-dozen cats/kittens that were dumped on their doorstep. The VHS is already struggling as they are filled to the brim with dogs and cats, and they need fosters, adopters, and monetary donations to help them keep up. This isn't a unique struggle to the VHS either, shelters all across the country are struggling to keep their heads above water as the pet overpopulation doesn't seem to show any signs of slowing.
BISSELL Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelters National Crisis Event
The BISSELL Pet Foundation is hosting another National Empty the Shelters event that kicked off on July 11th and goes through July 31st. The Vanderburgh Humane Society has teamed up with the BISSELL Pet Foundation, and they will help offset adoption costs so that way the VHS can offer lower adoption fees on their animals.
Which animals are included in $25 adoption fees?
The $25 adoption fees are for dogs, cats, kittens, and rabbits. Puppies under 6 months will not be available for a reduced adoption fee. Here is what the VHS had to say about the event:
