On February 29th, to help local lifters fulfill their pledges to HopeKids there will be a Battle for the Crown Push/Pull event at Nitro Fitness. All proceeds from the event go directly to HopeKids. It's $20 to lift in the event, and $5 to come and watch.  The price does go up to $25 for lifters after February 19th. This event is open to anyone. Whether you've deadlifted a thousand times, or one time.  It's a fun way to test your strength, in a fun supportive atmosphere.  Or you can come and watch local powerlifters test their strength and see what they can do.  I'll be lifting in the event too! So if you've ever wanted to see a radio DJ be the world's okayest powerlifter I know just the place ha!

Several Evansville area powerlifters have been training extremely hard to compete at Relentless in May.  Relentless is a competition where the best of the best in powerlifting compete, and support HopeKids.  Instead of paying an entry fee, each lifter pledges a minimum $500 donation to HopeKids as their entry fee.  Battle for the Crown is to help local lifters fulfill their pledges to HopeKids. Relentless is a fun day for the kids, as many HopeKids get to come and get a front row seat to all the action.  While the powerlifters may be lifting the heavy weights, the kids are really the strong ones, and what it's all about.

But really if you want to enter the push/pull it's a fun, no pressure contest. If you don't want to compete, there's a silent auction, and you get to watch people test their strength, which is pretty entertaining!

This is a charity BENCH and DEADLIFT competition. All proceeds go to Relentless Nashville and HopeKids.
