
Evansville Event Focuses On Online Child Safety
The internet is not getting any safer for kids, but a local event aims to help parents and caregivers stay one step ahead.
According to the Evansville Police Department, Holly's House is hosting a Digital Safety Summit this week focused on practical ways to keep children safe online.
When And Where The Event Is Happening
The summit will take place on Friday, April 24, from 5 pm to 8 pm at Evansville's Central High School.
For those who are unable to attend in person, a virtual option will also be available via Zoom.
What You Will Learn
The event is designed for parents, teachers, and anyone who works with or cares for children.
Attendees will hear from experts and learn:
- Practical tips to help keep kids safe online
- How to recognize and respond to digital threats
- Ways to connect with local resources focused on child safety
There will also be an opportunity to meet Hunter, an Indiana canine trained to help fight digital crime against children.
About Holly's House
Holly's House is a local advocacy center that supports children and adults impacted by intimate crimes.
The organization provides a safe space for victims to be interviewed and connected with resources, while also working within the community to help prevent these types of crimes before they happen.
