Meet Benjamin Stilley. According to a police affidavit, EMT's arrived about noon yesterday at Abbey Court Apartments and transported John W. White to St. Mary’s Medical Center with injuries suffered after he was struck twice in the head with the bat.

The affidavit said White suffered two skull fractures and brain bleeding. A hospital official said Thursday morning that he was in fair condition.

The incident happened about 11:45 a.m., the affidavit said, when Stilley, “growling like a dog,” approached White from behind and struck him as if he was swinging at a baseball. Stilley reportedly struck him again while he was on the ground.

White is a maintenance supervisor at Abbey Court Apartments.

Before the attack, White was speaking with a groundskeeper, who later told police that the assault was unprovoked and that if he hadn’t fought off Stilley with his weed trimmer, Stilley would have likely killed White, the affidavit said.

Police found Stilley at 5302 Stonehedge Drive, and he surrendered. He

refused to speak to a detective and was taken to jail, the affidavit said.

According to the affidavit, a woman who talked to Stilley afterward asked why he did it, to which he allegedly replied: “I couldn’t help it. I just had to do it.”

That's because you, Benjamin Stilley are the DICK OF THE WEEK!
