Why the Coffee Pods Are Being Recalled

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that food-safe ink may be introduced into the coffee cup during brewing, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. They say there was an issue with the application of the clear coat seal on the cups.

The recall affects only products with Lot Code 251749. No other lot codes or New Mexico Piñon Coffee products are part of this recall. The company reports no illnesses or injuries associated with the product and is acting out of an abundance of caution.

Consumers who purchased the affected product are advised to stop using it immediately. The company recommends either discarding the product or returning it to the place of purchase for a full refund.
