Mayor Lloyd Winnecke and Clean Evansville volunteers will pick up litter on the city’s East Side this Saturday, November 2, from 9am-11am in an effort to spruce-up one of the city’s busiest shopping districts before the start of the holiday season. Clean Teams will focus on an area roughly bounded by Morgan Avenue, Green River Road, Burkhardt Road and the Lloyd Expressway.

Team 1 will be led by Mayor Winnecke and will gather at the parking lot near Logan’s Roadhouse at Burkhardt Road and the Lloyd Expressway. Other teams will meet at parking lots at the Lloyd and Green River Road near Burlington Coat Factory, at Green River and Virginia Street near Acropolis Restaurant, at Green River and Vogel Road near Bob Evans restaurant, and at the parking lot at Green River and the Lloyd Expressway near Donut Bank.

Clean team volunteers are still being recruited. To join a team or to learn how to organize your own team and be counted as part of Keep America Beautiful and the Clean Evansville Initiative, call Keep Evansville Beautiful at 812-425-4461.

Clean Evansville is a community partnership between the City of Evansville and Keep Evansville Beautiful with support from Republic Services, Rural King and community volunteers.
