There is nothing like piling into the car with a warm drink and heading out to look at Christmas lights. It is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season and one that I look forward to every single year. If you have a similar tradition or if you are ready to start one, there is a new way to make your holiday light tour easier, brighter, and way more fun.

Evansville’s Holiday Tradition Just Got Bigger

Every December, a few days before Christmas, we grab hot cocoa and begin our usual route. We always start with the iconic Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights at Garvin Park. It is a must-see event in the Tri-State, and it benefits Easterseals. After that, we head to the Vanderburgh 4H Fairgrounds before finding the best neighborhood displays around town.

Good news for anyone who wants to create their own tour. The Evansville Christmas Lights community has once again compiled a massive list of residential and commercial displays throughout southern Indiana and western Kentucky. This year’s list has grown even larger and includes more than 200 locations. The interactive Google map allows you to see every display at a glance.

What the Map Icons Mean for Each Display

The map uses simple pins to help you know what to expect before you arrive. Ornaments mark homes with smaller displays. Gingerbread icons mark homes with larger, more elaborate setups. Candy canes show you which displays sync their lights to music. Green holly marks downtown photo spots. Large circles mark drive-thru events like Fantasy of Lights.

Where to See the Brightest Displays in the Tri-State

Grab your cocoa, load up the family, turn on your favorite holiday playlist, and let the map guide you through the best Christmas displays around the Tri-State.
