UPDATED INFO: Large Warehouse Fire in Evansville – Several Roads Closed Including Parts of the Lloyd
Every firefighter in the Evansville, Indiana area is on the scene of an enormous warehouse fire. The call came in at 4:40 AM. This fire quickly spread to nearby areas, causing grass fires. Morton Warehouses at 119 N. Morton is where this multiple-alarm fire began.
Evansville Fire Department spokesman Mike Larson said the fire at 119 N. Morton Ave. was still burning at 8:20 a.m. "Every vehicle in the city" was present at the site. The fire broke out just before 5 a.m.
A large warehouse fire has shut down the westbound lanes of the Lloyd Expressway between US 41 and Main Street in Evansville. Please avoid the area!

Beth Sweeney with the American Red Cross tells me that they are providing a canteen for emergency responders on the scene. They are working with emergency officials to determine if any other support is needed.

Evansville fire crews are on the scene of a business fire at the corner of East Franklin Street and Morton Ave. Firefighters say they saw smoke coming from the Morton Warehouse as they approached the building and were able to determine it was coming from the warehouse.
Evansville police are also on the scene.
