The Indiana Pacers started play back in 1967 in the now defunct American Basketball Association, the ABA.  Remember the red, white and blue basketballs?  They were cool!

When the ABA went belly up, several teams made the jump to the NBA which the Pacers did in 1976.  After being fairly mediocre until the 1990's when Reggie Miller,  Rik Smits era began and the team ended up in the NBA finals in 1999, only to get beat by The Lakers.

Well, The Pacers are having a banner year as the NBA Central Division Champions, after beating The Wizzards Saturday night.
